Each artwork is described by its medium. Drawing by pencil, aquarelle, pastel, oil, paper-cut. The base is paper or canvas, plywood or cardboard and is written.
Each artwork is assigned a number. The first are letters. The next are numbers. The letters depend on the medium used and on the artist. The number is assigned arbitrarily. The last digit is a letter, if the artwork is a diptych.
BATIA GROSSBARD, the first letters are according to medium.
BA Works in aquarelle and often with pastel.
BD Drawings by pencil, charcoal, markers.
BL Lithographs
BP Works by pastel.
BS Oil paintings
The artwork is laid on paper or on canvas.
If the artwork is a diptych the last digit is a letter. Left (L or a). Right (R or b)
YEHOSHUA GROSSBARD, the first letters are according to medium.
G oil paintings.
GP paper cuts.
GR prints.
Oil paintings are laid on canvas, plywood, or cardboard.
Batia Grossbard’s artworks:
Works on paper. i.e. drawings. Aquarelles, or lithographs,
the date is marked in front. If there is no year, the decade is indicated.
Works in oil by Batia, the date is written on the left panel. In photos of the painting, the date is not shown.
Yehoshua Grossbard’s artwork:
In most oil paintings there is the year. If there is no year, the decade is indicated.
In most papercuts the year is not indicated.
