Batia Grossbard Writes

I have learned from my parents to be human, to help people. Social problems were in my soul. I thought that it is possible to change the social system. I saw poverty in Warsaw, big families with many children without shoes or clothes, without medical care. The October Revolution in Russia gave hope that we can change. My social activity gave me opportunity to be close to interesting people, to be happy and satisfied.
For many years I used mainly to draw landscapes of Israel’s mountains. My thoughts were, love the landscape, the movement, and then you can have a drawing with expression. I developed my own original line. In the last few years I have worked extensively with water colours and oils. My paintings are my inner aesthetic expression. My achievements are greater as I am free to express the shapes and lines in warm colours on large scale. You should try to push yourself, always forward. Don’t try to be satisfied with your achievements of yesterday. Try and dare.
