Yehoshua Grossbard, His Writing

Yehoshua wrote throughout his life. We bring a page from his book of paintings where he describes the development in his paintings from dark paintings in Poland to bright paintings in Israel (from Yehoshua Grossbard. Paintings Edited by Zusia Efron, 1976).

In addition (in Hebrew), we bring a few of his poems. He wrote poems in Yiddish and

Hebrew throughout his life. He wrote on the artistic life in Poland before the Second World War, and on the artistic life in Israel, as well as critic on exhibitions. He was active in the commissions to publish memorial books to the two townships where he lived before migrating to Israel – Serock and Ciechanow.
